micro:bit Maqueen Car Series: Push and Whiz (1 Full-Day Camp)

Overview of the Camp

Suitable for Ages: 9 – 15 | Ages for 7 & 8: To be advised.

In this 1-Day camp, students will be introduced to additive manufacturing and TinkerCAD briefly to get them started on simple design modifications. They will learn to 3D print some of the parts of the mechanisms using a Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM) 3D printer. They will then learn to assemble the 3D printed parts with the respective electronic hardware of the micro:Maqueen. Simple coding is done to test the mechanisms before a complete coding is done to allow the micro:Maqueen to do the required tasks and applications using the attached mechanisms.

This camp covers the mechanism design for a pusher. It can come in the form of having stationary arms or a combination of a stationary arm and movable arm. The young learners will get to know the pros and cons of either design and their respective applications.
